Learning By Design
Both Colegrove Park Elementary School and Plains Elementary School will be highlighted in the Spring 2017 edition of Learning By Design, an educational facilities periodical focusing on excellence in design. Plains Elementary is noted as an Outstanding Project, while Colegrove Park is recognized with an Honorable Mention Award.

WMAIA Design Awards
Jones Whitsett Architects of Greenfield received three awards at the biennial design awards dinner of the Western Massachusetts chapter of the American Institute of Architects (WMAIA). At the event, held recently at Gateway City Arts, in Holyoke, JWA was honored with two merit awards for the design of Plains Elementary in South Hadley and the design of the Grove Street condominiums in Northampton, as well as a special citation for its renovation of Colegrove Park Elementary School in North Adams, MA.

2016 Massachusetts Historical Commission Preservation Award
Colegrove Park Elementary School in North Adams has been awarded a 2016 Preservation Award for rehabilitation and restoration.

The $28 million dollar restoration led by Jones Whitsett Architects celebrates the Renaissance Revival masonry building's importance to local history with restored exterior masonry and interior plaster, terrazzo, metal and stone details, as well as interpretive panels and archival photographs. Colegrove Park Elementary is on target to receive LEED Silver certification.

Small Lots/Big Ideas People's Choice Award
Dorrie Brooks & Kristian Whitsett's design for a narrow lot residence with accessory apartment won the People's Choice Award in a juried competition sponsored by the City of Northampton and WMAIA.

Western Massachusetts AIA
Margo Jones Architects and Tessier Associates, Inc. won top honors at the Western Massachusetts AIA Annual Design Awards Competition for the renovation and addition of Hoosac Valley Middle and High School.

Four impartial judges, Turner Brooks, Naomi Darling, Russell Learned and Darling Loeffler Puurunen, reviewed 20 entries of completed design work from across the region.  Hoosac Valley School was celebrated by the judges for its skillful re-use of existing materials, daylighting improvements and thoughtful detailing of interior spaces.

2012 Preservation Award
The Massachusetts Historic Commission presented a 2012 Preservation Award to five downtown Greenfield properties that worked together to plan their renovation and re-use.

Paul E. Tsongas Award
Preservation Massachusetts presented the Paul E. Tsongas Award to property owner Ed Wierzbowski and to Margo Jones Architects for efforts to preserve the Arms Block and Franklin Savings Bank in downtown Greenfield.
