Whately Town Hall Feasibility Study

Whately, MA
,
2017
The Whately Town Hall has been a center of civic activities in Whately since 1844. Since the moving of town administrative offices out the building in 2015, the building has been vacant. Jones Whitsett Architects, working closing with the Municipal Building Committee of the Town of Whately, has developed plans for the renovation of the historic Town Hall. The restored building will house the Whately Historical Society Museum on the first floor, with the second floor to be used as a community center. The $1.3 million renovations will include a new accessible lift, fully accessible restrooms, and HVAC and electrical upgrades throughout the building. Fully restored historic windows and increased insulation at the attic space are also included in the improvements. Construction is scheduled to start in the Fall of 2017 with the project to be completed in June of 2018.
