Greenfield Upper Stories

Greenfield, MA | 2009

In an unprecedented effort at downtown revitalization, five business owners of eight historic buildings in Greenfield, Massachusetts, all within the National Register historic district of downtown Greenfield, banded together to obtain New Market, state and federal historic tax credits to enable restoration of critical downtown building. JWA Founding Principal Margo Jones, consulting with Epsilon Associates of Maynard, MA, wrote the Massachusetts Historic Commission and National Park Service applications. These eight historic buildings have suffered through decades of neglect and underutilization. The influx of state and federal tax credits has provided the opportunity for new residential and commercial uses.
