Smith Charities

Northampton, MA | On-going

JWA is working with Smith Charities on a multi-phase renovation of this remarkable 6,020 sf Renaissance Revival office building in downtown Northampton. Designed by William Feno Pratt and constructed in 1865, the unique brownstone anchors the downtown historic district and continues to operate in much the way it did when it was first built.

To develop a record of the building's current conditions, JWA scanned the building with a Leica 3D laser scanner and provided Smith Charities and the Massachusetts Historic Commission with a 3D point cloud and photorealistic model as an archive. Phase 1 of the restoration is underway and includes restoration of the street-facing sandstone facade and parapet.
