Friendship Cottage

Friendship, ME | 1989

This 1,100 sf design for a home in Friendship, Maine uses the vernacular style of turn of the century costal cottages to create a summer cottage for a young family.  Stud framing and pine sheathing are exposed on the interior but rigid insulation between the sheathing and shingles expands the use of the house into three seasons.  The windows in the tower bedroom look for out on the tidal estuary.
