Wendell Town Offices

Wendell, MA | 2007

Wendell had outgrown its small, aging town offices and sought a new, more central structure closer to Wendell Town Commons. Margo Jones led an engagement process that helped the community work through the design and local public approval process. The culmination of the effort is a more efficient building that enjoys abundant natural light and modern amenities. While Greek Revival on the exterior, the interior is contemporary in feel with an exposed truss system and a bright central atrium made of locally harvested timber frame elements. The design incorporates several “green” design features including recycled materials, and a dual fuel heating system utilizing a highly efficient wood burning furnace.
