August Rulewich

design associate

Born and raised in Western MA, August spent 8 years in Boston before relocating to Northampton in 2025. Prior to JWA, August worked on a number of projects for schools throughout the New England area, including dormitories, athletic stadiums, student life and dining, and performance spaces. He has enjoyed work that actively supports students and education, as well as the local community. His keen eye for detail and attentive ear have made him an invaluable design collaborator. August is also a strong advocate for sustainable design thinking and practices, and has worked on multiple mass timber and regenerative design projects.  

August received his Bachelor's of Architecture from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2017, and is working towards his Massachusetts licensure and LEED certification. 

August's creative energies extend to his hobbies, whether that be through singing and composing, creating maps, or designing games. August is an avid board game player and collector, but sometimes his favorite way to relax is a simple bike ride or hike through the woods.
